Start with the documented color character
Soft Chamois is a warm off-white with a shaded appearance. A physical comparison is needed to decide how that character works with your own finishes. Soft Chamois offers a shaded warm-white appearance rather than the strongest possible white contrast.
Limestone and unbleached cotton can support that softness, but the existing ceiling white sets a separate boundary that should be kept visible.
Use Ballet White as a control
Use the fixed cabinet or ceramic white as the starting reference for Soft Chamois. Compare the joint in daylight before adding colored fabrics. Then introduce Ballet White and remove it again: the useful cast is the one seen beside the fixture that will remain, not only between competing paint samples.
Soft Chamois has an LRV of 77.4; Benjamin Moore Ballet White OC-9 is 71.97. The difference is 5.43 points, with Soft Chamois returning more light under the reference measurement. Ballet White is an off-white with enough color to make a softer alternative to a very bright white. This supplies a named color control; the LRV gap alone does not identify the warmer, greener or pinker paint.
The condition for keeping Soft Chamois
